Recommendations

We live right by Leeds Dock, so naturally have some recommendations of lovely things to eat and drink there, and things to do in the local area.

Breakfast and coffee at Leeds Dock

Most days we get coffee from North Star Coffee Shop, who also have a great food menu and coffee beans to take home.

We also love to get a coffee from Vinnie at his coffee stand, Coffee Synthesis, near the entrance to CitiPark and take a walk down the river.

For the best baked goods around, NOVA Bakehouse is a must. We love to share their cinnammon buns, cardamon buns, morning buns and something unique to them - morning cakes.

Coffee

Our favourite places for coffee are from Lee at Miles and Co. in the beautiful Kirkgate Market and Laynes.

Food

Some of our favourite places to eat are House of Fu, Ox Club, Rudys Pizza, Sarto and a cheeky burger from Slap and Pickle or shawarma from Sqew.

Excursions

From Leeds, Yorkshire is your oyster! But, some particular spots we love are:

• The Hepworth in Wakefield for it's permanent Barbara Hepworth exhibition, other exhibitions and brilliant food and coffee from Carl, Vic and others in the cafe
• Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a brilliant day out with world class sculptures (our favourites are the Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and Ai Wei Wei's), nice walks and food from The Weston
• Salts Mill in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage village of Saltaire. We love to go and see the permanent David Hockney exhibitions, the wonderful book and home shop and food from Salt's Diner
